Big disappointment
I have to take exception with the other review. I bought two of these and they simply do not work. The problem is there is a protective, non-electrified grid on each side of the electrified grid. This means you somehow have to get the bug to touch the middle grid for it to work. Most of the time the bug simply bounces off the non-electrified grids and flies away. Save your money.

it died
we liked the item while it lasted but it didn't for very long. we don't have kids playing with it. it's just my husband using it. it quit after about a month...

BUG ZAPPING FUN
I GOT THIS BUG ZAPPER IN NOVEMBER, AND BOUGHT FIVE MORE FOR CHRISTMAS GIFTS,ONE FOR MY BROTHER. I HAD TO GET HIM ANOTHER ONE BECAUSE HIS TWO PRE-TEENS WERE FIGHTING OVER IT. KIDS AND ADULTS ALIKE THINK THESE ARE VERY ENTERTAINING AS WELL AS USEFUL. IT'S A GREAT CONVERSATIONAL PIECE TOO. ALL OF MY FRIENDS WANT ONE. I GREATLY RECOMMEND THESE BUG ZAPPERS!!!
